Law prof and Director of the Center for Law and Biomedical Sciences (LABS) at SJQ & Assoc Dean of Research. I study evidence, torts, & law and biosciences.
LABS hosted a provocative and engaging talk today by Romina Boccia from CATO on the role of Medicare and SS on the enormous national debt. These are crucial benefit programs, but the way they’re funded is not sustainable—and I enjoyed hearing Romina speak frankly (and expertly!) about that.

@sjquinney.bsky.social LABS is hosting a fantastic symposium today on the practical implications for MDs and their counsel in a post-Dobbs world. Thanks to Holland & Hart, the Health Law Section of the Utah bar, and our Center for Health Ethics, Arts and Humanities for co-sponsoring with us!

“Shifting the Male Gaze of Evidence” is out now in the Vanderbilt Law Review. It challenges the gendered view of unemotional rationality embedded in FRE 403. Many thanks to the student editors for seeing it through and to Ed Cheng for convening the fun symposium! papers.ssrn.com/sol3/papers....
