Listen…If y’all want to talk honesty, then let’s be honest about all of it.

The promises, the hypocrisy, the receipts.

Because what you campaigned on and what you’re doing? Two very different things.

Budget bill’s inclusion of funds for senators to sue DOJ for up to $500,000 each for investigating them is the ultimate pork barrel legislation. I’ll discuss with @chrislhayes.bsky.social on @msnbc.com at 8:25 pm ET.

So, this is the “Democrats’ Shutdown” when the GOP controls both houses of Congress and can’t govern unless it’s unilateral, dictatorial exercises of executive power?

Got it.

The pandering to bigots at all levels is remarkable—installing them as heads of news rooms—we live in a time of unprincipled cowards, racing to the bottom.

LABS hosted a provocative and engaging talk today by Romina Boccia from CATO on the role of Medicare and SS on the enormous national debt. These are crucial benefit programs, but the way they’re funded is not sustainable—and I enjoyed hearing Romina speak frankly (and expertly!) about that.

why are this doorknobs dressed in jungle camo to go to a goddamn home depot. it's just the stupidity of it all. dressed up like the brotherhood of steel in fallout 4 for fucks sake. but instead of an apocalyptic wasteland it's a fucking home depot
I obtained this from a community member minutes after arriving on scene following a raid at the Cypress Park Home Depot this morning. they detained day laborers.

HIPAA has exceptions for warrantless law enforcement access to your private medical records. This Biden reg kept the police (say, in Texas) from accessing private records from other states where abortion is legal (like Colorado).
BREAKING: U.S. District Judge Matthew Kacsmaryk has issued a ruling striking down the 2024 Biden-era HIPAA rule protecting reproductive health information from disclosure to law enforcement investigators when it was legally obtained, such as in another state.

Does she really not know? Or is this a sound-bite manufactured for OAN and Fox News to use out of context (which I believe is often the point of lots of odd-seeming-to-normies GOP comments at hearings).

Bc this is one of the MOST egregiously wrong statements abt law I’ve ever seen. Maybe THE most.
HASSAN: What is habeas corpus?

NOEM: Habeas corpus is a constitutional right that the president has to be able to remove people from this country

HASSAN: That's incorrect

Since Trump took office, his family has made $2.9 billion in crypto.

Again, this is a level of corruption so cartoonish, so obvious & on the surface, that it seems to have stunned everyone to silence.

Excellent, well-written opinion by Judge Wilkinson – a judge who is basically the opposite of a "judicial activist," nonetheless telling the Executive Branch to get fucked
INCREDIBLE opinion by Wilkinson refusing to stay Judge Xinis's orders in the Abrego Garcia case, condemning DOJ's arguments as "shocking not only to judges, but to the intuitive sense of liberty that Americans far removed from courthouses still hold dear."

Which SCOTUS can make clear in any of these cases, if 5 of them are appalled at all this, which I suspect and hope is true. Just say that defiance of court orders and all that flows from that are not official acts. One could get a lot clearer about what that means, but just that would be great.

Don’t be the callous Senator, but also don’t be those enabling staffers who just looked down in the face of their boss’s cruelty.
Sen. Jim Banks told a laid off U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) employee who approached him that they “probably deserved it” and they “seem like a clown.”
