Pokemon Yellow was my first game so didn't have a choice, but played Silver and picked Totodile. I will say my most fond starter I had was in Emerald being a Treeko that I got to level 100 and used in a majority of Gen 3. Sadly he accidentally got deleted cause he was on my XD save.
