There are a ton of reasons why mandatory ID cards are a terrible idea, especially if it's run by an awful American data mining org like Palantir.

Petitions themselves don't do much, but media pressure can help if the signatures get high enough.

Petition: Do not introduce Digital ID cards
We demand that the UK Government immediately commits to not introducing a digital ID cards. There are reports that this is being looked at.

I don't know why it made me happy to watch them, but I hope it brings you joy too.

Tax dodging by rich could be ‘much greater than thought’, says UK audit office.

Offshoring wealth, tax dodge schemes.

Number of wealthy (income >£200,000; assets >£2m) increased. £5.2bn collected through enforcement despite reduction in the number of penalty notices.

Tax the rich. Make them pay.

Thames Water on collision course with govt over exec bonuses.

TW with £21bn debt, history of abuses & criminal convictions insists that it will pay bonuses, now calls them “retention payments”.

Govt must cancel it's licence, let it go bankrupt, prosecute execs, nationalise.

Most companies at least try to say publicly that their staff are their most important asset, even if they don't genuinely believe it. But Thames Water are just straight up insulting and devaluing their staff, mask off, in national news. It's completely insane.

"We have a bonus scheme to protect our most valuable resource, which is the senior management team."

I work in HR and this is genuinely one of the most baffling things I've ever heard a company say. For them to say it publicly sounds like it's from The Onion. My levels of WTF are off the chart.

US Churches, massive data sets and voter manipulation. Farage is already talking about bringing US style anti-abortion laws to the UK. That is just the start of it.
1/ 🚨 Conspiracy theories about the 2024 election miss the bigger picture.

The truth? It wasn’t one night, one hack, or one fraud. It was a system rigged in plain sight – right in front of us. The playbook was out in the open for years. But hardly anyone paid attention.

Here’s how they did it... 🧵

Tim Stanley, in what now appears to be a weekly slot on one or other BBC flagship politics programme, reels off a huge amount of absolute, provable nonsense about immigration.

And he does so completely unchallenged. Enough now. ~AA

How the UK establishment works

Just Stop Oil members went to prison for years for plotting a protest

Jeremy Clarkson ends up on the front page of Rupert Murdoch’s Times for leading one

One protest was trying to save the planet from fossil fuel profiteers, the other retain generational wealth 🤷
A right wing paper that has *never* had a similar headline about the UK economy taking a FAR greater hit from the ruinous Tory Brexit deal, can’t be taken seriously when it slates Labour for dealing with the epic mess the Tories left behind.
What did you expect, Times?
You helped grenade the place.

The EU and UK are set to review the Brexit deal in 2026.
So why not hold a new Brexit referendum before that, in 2025? That way, the government can find out exactly what the public's position is after 10 years of Brexit.
