I think I just might have! So all is well that ends well.

All the UK wargamers I know are capital people, really awesome. Worst I’ve dealt with there is innocent ignorance, not malice. You guys have cultivated a largely positive space.

It is a very small world…and it gets better. I found out about this Bluesky thread via Sonic Sledgehammer, a kiwi in Germany who does YouTube painting tutorials. I’m in his discord. He pinged me when he saw this haha.

I don’t want to rag on them too hard. They just like the creative freedom of sci-fi and fantasy games.

But yeah, uniforms are the sticking point. And to be fair, linear warfare is a big no no for them too.

Yeah I’ll reach out in a bit! That sounds right up my alley. I’m in Leith, technically, so closer to Owen Sound. But I’ve travelled further to game before. Unfortunately I’m not allowed to drive, fainting spells. It’s why I typically game in a store or the club in a part of. But I’ll make it work.

I have a really funny feeling I’ve emailed you before lol. I wanted to run a table at Hot Lead but my leave got cancelled. Three Block War was the plan.

It’s funny, I can get moderns going but straight historicals was like pulling teeth.

Still feel like I’m drawing a fuss. My local store is fantastic in Hanover and has nipped a lot of this in the bud. But historical interest is either zero or attracted a weird bunch.

Mostly I was about to give up on it. But maybe I shouldn’t, seems like I was looking in the wrong direction.

Well, that post got way more traction than I ever thought I would! Not sure how to feel about it.

I’d love to game with people who are…more agreeable with Historicals. My local GW group is great.

I never really thought my local area was that bad until I got an international response of “yikes”
