My only problem with this game is that it had a level 4 skill check like 30 minutes into the game that only one skill could get past and it's like a horrific awful choice.

Have you ever tried just putting a Disallow in robots.txt that points to a script that just IP bans whatever hits it? Its way easier than what you're doing.
