Imho, if the current Republican party implodes under Trump and is discredited, and anyone sane and rightish in a 70s-90s sense (with certain modern growth such as gay rights) joins the Democratic party, and then the Democratic party splits into two new major parties -- that would be a good thing.

In any case, right now we aren't going to have the luxury to reform the Democratic party if the US becomes a fascist state.
But I also believe anyone running on a Democratic ticket needs to at least declare they are for undoing everything Trump has done. Not deciding if it anything should be kept.
