Hello, Bluesky! I'm all about data centers and the digital infrastructure driving the AI and cloud boom. I've been covering this sector full-time for 24 years. If you're into tech, AI, cloud or data centers, please follow along!
Racks filled with GPUs and liquid cooling gear can now weigh 6,000 pounds or more, requiring new approaches to address human safety and investment protection. Google, Meta, and Microsoft are turning to robotics to safely move these huge racks.

Jassy said AWS is racing to keep pace with a re-acceleration of demand. “You’re going to see us continue to be very aggressive investing in capacity because we see the demand,” said Jassy. “As fast as we’re adding capacity right now, we’re monetizing it.”
“Demand remains significantly ahead of the capacity we have available,” said Microsoft CFO Amy Hood. “We now expect to be capacity constrained through at least (June 2026).”

Amazon CEO Andy Jassy said AWS has added more than 3.8 gigawatts of data center capacity in the past 12 months.
The largest hyperscale operators say demand for AI services is filling data centers as fast as they can build them, with several saying they are compute-constrained.
As a result, they expect to build even more data center space in 2026.

As it seems to modernize data center design and delivery, DSX also holds the potential to address huge challenges in AI infrastructure, including the rapid AI hardware upgrade cycles, and integration of buildings with the chips and servers inside them.
The NVIDIA Omniverse DSX platform taps the power of AI and digital twins to optimize AI factories from the chip to the grid, using a “co-design” approach to seamlessly orchestrate physical and digital assets.
In a bold move to accelerate the deployment of AI infrastructure, NVIDIA has unveiled a digital blueprint for AI data centers, with more than 20 of the industry’s leading builders and vendors aligning behind the initiative.

Colovore has data center projects under construction in three new markets - Reno, Chicago and Austin - and more to come.
The company was founded in 2012 in anticipation of higher rack densities ahead. That experience is now backed by new owners and fresh capital, enabling Colovore to scale up and meet the moment it has anticipated for so long
As AI creates unprecedented rack power densities, liquid cooling specialist Colovore is expanding beyond Silicon Valley and preparing to bring high-density cooling to enterprise customers in business markets around the U.S.

Aligned will use an energy storage system from Calibrant Energy to bring a new data center facility online “years earlier than would be possible with traditional utility upgrades," the company said.

“This project flips the script on how data centers access power,” said Calibrant CEO Phil Martin.
By using a combination of battery storage and grid flexibility, Aligned Data Centers is demonstrating the viability of energy storage as a “time to power” strategy.
