I'd be really disappointed if an educational establishment would not support the professional learning opportunities of their own staff, just because it didn't fit in with their own agendas. There are some amazing schools out there offering agency and autonomy and trusting reprofessionalisation!

Check in with the staff, learn the lay of the land, find out what changes the staff prioritise, and focus on those as well as your own identified priorities.

A fantastic piece of writing with some really useful hints and tips! One thing that I think is really valuable is finding yourself a mentor, find a trusted colleague / leader who you can bounce ideas off! There's no shame in new or experienced leaders seeking aid! All the best 😊
