This hits home for me. When faculty in my context push for stricter policies to address issues of "engagement," "classroom management," and "professionalism," it usually stems from a belief about what learning is "supposed" to look like. And it usually excludes many Neurodivergent & ESL students.

Space. Space for students to bring their whole selves. Space for learning. Space for reflection. Space for life to happen.
