3. For more of the strategy/politics, I think I would recommend 8.3 because it is a historical overview showing how war changes based on the polity/regime.

1. Book 1.4-1.8 (Danger; Exertion; Information; Friction; Habit). A core idea with how difficult it is to engage and act in the world because of these material conditions.
