What happened to bringing prices down on Day 1? Instead we get across the board price hikes because of tariffs.

Trump tried to use “emergency powers” to slap tariffs on most of the world. A court has now said: absolutely not. The markets cheered. Businesses exhaled. It seems that when Trump loses, America wins.

I agree with @aoc.bsky.social. The math isn't adding up in the Republicans' "big, beautiful bill."

The only thing that’s going to get you fired from a Trump 2.0 cabinet is disloyalty to Trump. No act of incompetence, mismanagement, criminality, or malfeasance can get you fired. As long as you are loyal to Trump, you can pretty much do anything.

That fear you have, that maybe even small decision to limit what you say or where you go, even for US citizens, it means we’re living under authoritarianism.
We're going from "foreign tourists afraid to visit the US" to "US citizens afraid to go abroad because of what could happen when they return to their own country"

We spend too much time talking about people who suffer from problems in the USA and too little time talking about the people who profit from those problems.

The IRS announced that they are bracing themselves for a $500B loss in revenue because people aren't filing taxes in the wake of DOGE's destruction.

Fewer employees mean fewer audits. Guess who also knows about fewer checks and balances - millionaires and billionaires.

So much for saving money.

Authoritarians don't believe in an independent judiciary.

To them, the courts are an extension of their own will.

When the courts don't obey their will, they go after the judges.

At some point, those traveling down Rhetoric Road, will intersect with Statistics Street.

I don't think it's going to be pretty.

Time for the "tariffs are good for American jobs" crowd to back pedal their way into saying the Cheeto in Chief is a genius for not implementing them.

It’s becoming very clear that the Trump Admin never had any interest in serving as an honest broker to end the Russian invasion of Ukraine. The plan was always to join Russia and others in plundering the Ukrainian economy like a 17th century colonizer.

If you've never heard of US House Resolution 7, look it up.

I'm not exaggerating when I say this resolution is oppressive.

I'll just quote one portion of it and you can decide for yourself if you think it's a good idea.

Hold the fuck on — the Department of Government Efficiency, the entity which claims its mission is to end “wasteful spending”, was given SEVEN MILLION TAXPAYER DOLLARS to cover its “expenses” in the span of a single week?!?!

Are you fucking kidding me?!?

We are being strategically manipulated and exploited to push us to our cognitive limits. When humans experience information overload, they become passive and disengaged. Don't allow this strategy to work. Never let the urgent outweigh the important. Complacency only helps authoritarians.

39 years ago today, we all watched in horror as the nations heroes became a fireball in the sky. I was glued to the television with my classmates that day.

RIP Francis R. Scobee, Michael J. Smith, Ronald E. McNair, Ellison S. Onizuka, Judith A. Resnik, Gregory B. Jarvis, and Christa McAuliffe.

Netanyahu did horrendous, unspeakable things.

I condemn Hamas AND Netanyahu for their actions.

The Palestinian people are not Hamas.

The Israeli people are not Netanyahu. 1/2

Elon Musk's biggest business partner is the Chinese Communist Party. Half of Tesla operates in China.

The richest man in the world, who now has access to top secret information, is in business with the Chinese government.

Let that sink in a bit.

I'm all for criminals being arrested.

Let's make sure the owners/CEOs of companies found to be harboring criminals are arrested and punished to the fullest extent of the law.

Criminals are criminals, right?
