Also that whole episode of Joseph being a terrible carpenter and needs Jesus to make the wood he cut longer is pretty hilarious. So definitely comedy, we can argue how dark exactly.

Oof. Genres, I hate ‘em. But certainly not horror or even gothic. Black comedy would be my go to, I think the random deaths are pretty funny. Wouldn’t call it a coming of age because Jesus doesn’t really grow up. He just stays the same and people around him seem to get used to him being a bit of a d
