People think poetry isn't relevant. Though it may seem to be waning in influence, its gravity is inescapable. For example, take this small portion of a longer 1987 book length serial poem "Catenary Odes" which proves that the American L=A=N=G=U=A=G=E poet Ted Pearson invented the concept of gooning.

The Leslie-Lohman Museum of Art is exhibiting David Wojnarowicz's "Arthur Rimbaud in New York" until Jan. 18th. It's the photoseries which answers such timeless questions as: "What's the light like in an abandoned pier just before I let a dead poet cum in my mouth." leslielohman.org/exhibitions/...

I was in the public library years ago and it must've been around the time that his memoir came out cause it was on the new bookstand, so I picked it up and opened it to the first page out of curiosity, and the first sentence was this:
