Got inspired to yap about Alister’s mother from this post, so here’s some mom lore!
Alister's mother Brilia was born to a human father and an elven mother. Her father was a small time but wealthy textile merchant, and a stern man. He made sure his family had a nice home just outside neverwinter and all the fine things money could buy, but he was rarely ever home. When he was home, he was cruel to his daughter, disgusted by her wings (even though their existence was his own fault, he had some strong dealings with the hells in order to earn his fortune). Her mother, however, was extremely loving, and would always tell her that the wings were a beautiful blessing. She spent her early years in the loving embrace of her mother, but she always favored her father. She came to despise her mother for encouraging her to use her wings, and she began to self mutilate them almost to the point of accidentally causing permanent spinal damage. Her mother brought in the best healers she could find to fix them, but they were never the same, and grew small and frail with disuse. She began to make herself look as poised and like a "proper tiefling" as possible in order to impress her father, scorning her mother in order to do so. Her father reluctantly agreed to teach her a bit of father reluctantly agreed to teach her a bit of the business, and she took to it extremely well, a natural at the powers of manipulation. When she was 15 and now well versed in business, her father died in a ship wreck. Her mother inherited all of the father's money, and decided to use it to retire so she could try to reconnect with her daughter. Brilia despised this decision, and grew to hate her mom even more for "killing father's legacy". She would leave the house often to roam the city, mostly just as an excuse to get away from her mother. In a short while she noticed that she had caught the eye of a tiefling boy roughly her age, an apprentice at his family's tailor shop. She initially wasn't interested, as she's always thought of herself as more elf or human than tiefling, but when she saw the caliber of the boy's work she got an idea. Abusing the fact that the boy was in love with her, she got him to agree to leave the city to start their own business, with her taking care of textiles using her father's old contacts, and him designing and making high end clothing to sell. She married the boy (Alister's father Carrus) in secret, and without ever saying goodbye stole a significant amount of money from her mother before setting off for Badlur's Caugn the eye ol d te!!!!!g ooy rougmy ner age, an apprentice at his family's tailor shop. She initially wasn't interested, as she's always thought of herself as more elf or human than tiefling, but when she saw the caliber of the boy's work she got an idea. Abusing the fact that the boy was in love with her, she got him to agree to leave the city to start their own business, with her taking care of textiles using her father's old contacts, and him designing and making high end clothing to sell. She married the boy (Alister's father Carrus) in secret, and without ever saying goodbye stole a significant amount of money from her mother before setting off for Badlur's Gate. Brilia and Carrus changed their last names to Taylor for the sake of the business, and to formally disown their families. She has never spoken to Alister or his sister about any of this, or allowed Carrus to (Carrus was also banned from talking to or about his own family, as they are tieflings and proud of it). Alister has a wonderful grandmother/grandparents in the north who would love him and welcome him with open arms, and a whole extended family of tiefling artisans, and he'll never know about it.

Of the Halloween scents I’d go with immortal! Both Alister and Astarion do end up with immortality in their canon after all, haha. For regular scents, I’ll go with Into the Night for Alister (mostly because of the bottle✨), and After Dark for Astarion❤️
