Was fitted today with old-school bracket braces—my first-ever orthodontia! (🥲) Anyhow, this is how it feels right now

These might be the most bleak costume ideas in the store (and the irony that everything in there was, like, 30% more expensive than it would’ve been last year). Who is the audience for this tariff tunic costume? “I’m essentially a spreadsheet!” So much Halloween fun! 🥲

In the last week, greedy billionaires have easily convinced me to cancel Hulu, HBO and Disney+. (Adding to the list of Target, Amazon Prime, Netflix and others). I don’t miss any of it. More time and money for cooler shit, like planting native plant like this cute little New England aster! 🤩

If nothing else, I got my bird of the day 🙄

Wavy-lined emerald moth. Their caterpillars attach pieces of dried flowers and other plants to themselves as camouflage. Nature! 🤩🤯

Ever look around and think “wow, nature is unreal”?? We are so lucky to live on this planet. (photos taken in RMNP & Brainard Rec Area, Colorado)

Bug of the day. 🤩🫅🦋

Today’s bug: bordered wedge-shaped beetle. For anyone in the US’ Midwest, plant some Mountain Mint that’s native to your region. It’s far and away the most popular thing I’ve ever planted. Everyone (but the deer) loves it.

A new part of my daily mental health routine is watching and IDing the bugs in our native plant beds. It’s very peaceful and I recommend it. This guy is (I believe) a Perplexing Bumble Bee (common name).

A joyful, uplifting Nick Cave concert isn’t what I was expecting from 2025, here we are! [Masonic Temple, Detroit; 4.19.25]

I cannot overemphasize the space that Val Kilmer occupied in my pre-teen mind. Was *obsessed/in love* with his Doc Holliday. Due for a Tombstone/Heat double-header this week.

Like so many other cats, Roger was a huge fan of the Oscar-winning "Flow." We watched it Friday night and he was *enthralled* -- the humans loved it, too!

I love that Pepe (L) is slowly allowing Ziggy (R) to have more physical contact with him, but it's still a tenuous situation at best.

For anyone who's never had a cat, here Roger is demonstrating "annoying, attention-seeking behavior."
