Looking for fellow readers. I like suspense / horror #fiction, but being a 6th ELA teacher, I also read a TON of YA and Middle Grade.

I have a small account, but I'd love to connect with some like-minded folks on here. Comment with your favorite #book of '24, and I'd be happy to follow! #books

Just dropped a list of neo-noir book recs for anyone who loves gritty crime fiction and dark thrillers. If you’re into flawed narrators and fast-moving revenge stories, this one’s for you. 📚🖤

Starting the movie “Novocaine” with “Everybody Hurts” is a pretty baller move.

I dread reading SA Cosby’s novels, mostly because he does the thing I want to do so much better than I could ever do it. Blacktop Wasteland is yet another example.

What I REALLY liked about Sinners was the writing in the first hour. Ryan Coogler came to this project with something to say, and this movie should be a reminder to all of us about what is to be loved about going to the theater. #movies #horror #horrormovies #sinners

What is everybody’s take on Exquisite Corpse? I just finished it this weekend, and honestly it was both one of the best-written and most unsettling things I’ve ever read.

Just started “Cogan’s Trade” by George V. Higgins (which became “Killing Them Softly” in theaters).

Some of the grittiest and most well-written dialogue this side of Elmore Leonard. I’ve never seen an author characterize people so well through their words.

Wake Up and Open Your Eyes is a horror novel about zombies being brainwashed by a propaganda outlet, and I didn't know I needed this in my life until I started reading it.

I ended up absolutely loving Red Rising. I cannot believe I almost put that book down.

Still, I needed a palate cleanser afterward, so I am re-reading Stephen King's 'Skeleton Crew,' because I saw 'The Monkey' last night and could not believe it was purported to be the same text.

Age yourself with a movie you saw in the theater.

This is not the first movie I saw in the theater, but it’s close.

Okay, I’ve got to be honest: I didn’t love Red Rising for the first…several hours?

That said, there’s a plot shift—I won’t say twist—that happens a little over halfway through, and I’ve locked IN on this book. Can’t wait to finish it.
