I finally saw Flow. It was as successful as expected, and actually deserved all the rewards in the world. Wholesome, tender, beautiful, and full of imagination: Everybody loved this indie animated movie in the family 👌

Thank you @gintszilbalodis.bsky.social 🙏

The brutal industrialisation of East Suffolk by this govt for Sizewell C continues. Here Eastbridge, 2 miles from the site now part of the 950 acre main construction area, shows this rural location in Suffolk's National Landscape as totally unsuitable for a project of this scale

Great letter from Dr Richard Lowes, Exeter University + RegulatoryAssistance Project on the continuing insane electricity pricing conditions given the need to incentivise clean energy uptake.

Still no published plan (promised by Boris Johnson in 2022)

You may recall that I was caught up in the collapse of publishers Unbound.

I now have the rights to my book Why Do Birds Suddenly Disappear? And I have a lot of them to get rid of.

So if you felt like buying one I might see my office floor again before 2027.

East Anglia generates huge amounts of clean power – but locals don’t see the benefit.

Outdated pricing wastes billions, while families still struggle to heat their homes.

Full story from East Anglia Bylines – see what’s at stake.
Is zonal electricity pricing the future of UK energy?
Flexible energy pricing could save households £200 a year by 2040, but any policy change needs to reduce risks for lower-income families

I stumbled across this Arte documentary about safety in water by chance. More than 20 years ago as a student job I worked as a lifeguard

Two things are striking
- the tech at the Spanish beach is amazing 👍
- more and more drownings each year in Europe! 😥

Re: Staying Safe at the Beach - Watch the full documentary | ARTE in English
When summer comes, Europeans want to cool off by taking a dip. But swimming in the sea or a lake comes with dangers which many people underestimate: Tragically 15,000 Europeans drown every year. ARTE ...

It’s the time of year when you might find a baby bird and want to help. Most often (and slightly counterintuitively) it’s best to do nothing. Here’s a useful guide.

Ophthalmology has taken the lead in moving NHS care to the Private sector

Here we read how some are exploiting those contracts or lack of scrutiny

This is why this move has been campaigned against by many people in the NHS

Yet @rthonwesstreeting.bsky.social is keen to continue at pace

Thin, scared and not quite all there in the head. But his life has transformed.

tiktok deleted the voiceover for this but i’m posting it anyway. I wrote a long piece about this experience.

I went to the mountains longing to be held, to get lost in the vastness and beauty surrounding me. I thought I had to earn it by climbing to the top, but that was the whole point. I didn’t.

The destruction of East Suffolk's countryside much in the AONB, for Sizewell C, a #BorisJohnson vanity project taken on & accelerated by #Labour, shows environmental devastation is so huge that Sizewell C should never have been given DCO approval.
