Maybe it's about audience. Different people think different art is good or bad. So whose opinion do you value? Maybe ask them what qualities of a song resonate with them. Personally I share my art with a circle of friends with my taste and get feedback from them.

Unfortunately yes lol. Either for a giant machine that ignores everything to churn a huge profit. Or small institution that's financially in shambles and can't hire enough workers to fix it
