Regarding pump jet, have you access to classified informations and French technology? Most arguments against pump jet on conventional sub have been dismissed since then.

I think you underestimate French submarines. Barracuda won because it was addressing the Australian specifications better than the Soryu. It could have been converted back to nuclear, offered much longer range, special force deployment capabilities, more comfort,…. Suffren class is the most silent

Yes and then USA said they finally didn’t have time. France also developed a silent non nuclear submarine just for Australia who didn’t want nuclear powered engines. Australia then ask for nuclear submarines to USA
