That's what I'm hoping for, that its just a visual reference but is doing something entirely different but again I kinda just don't want fire to be used in James's Silent Hill like it feels wrong to me lol his whole deal is water, it's all about that slow decay like Mary's illness.

Also just remembered the rape shit, don't know why that had to included at all, the barbed wire stuff was so gratuitous and no male character is sexually assaulted, its just for Christabella and Alessa to endure.

I much prefer the game saying that Harry was the better parent despite not being related to Cheryl by blood than the movie woobiefying Dahlia, like it feels a bit sexist that a mother couldn't possibly be awful and abusive to her child so they had to come up with a separate childless woman.

Eddie being used to aid James' story isn't as bad, you could still do something with him losing his mind to the town so Im not really worried about him. Laura is already important to James' story so I at least hope that her ties to Mary is kept intact.

I'd rather Angela was removed than be used as a tool for James' narrative, it looks like the fiery staircase scene is in the movie but not with Angela and I find that incredibly shit. That scene is so important in dressing down both James and the player so to change it to be about him feels wrong.

I believe Gans said he thought Harry was too much of a pussy aka not a masculine character because he showed genuine fear and distress when dealing with monsters so yknow gotta make him a woman I guess and also throw out the message that biological parents aren't innately better than adoptive ones.

I do hope it's good and the trailer was just a fluke, I did like the first movie despite the baffling decision to replace the Order. At least there won't be kids in juggalo makeup eating raw meat lmao.

Water is associated with James not fire, that's Angela and if they go with the In Water ending then what's the point to changing the water damaged and rotted away Lakeview hotel to one that was burned instead, just for drama? That change in theme and visual consistency isn't right to me.

I find the changes to Mary's letter to be weird but that could be at least justified with story changes however I am not a fan of Laura being creepy, she's supposed to be normal that's her whole deal is she's normal and doesn't see anything wrong with the town. Also not a fan of the hotel burning.

I don't have an issue with the movie taking creative liberties, I never thought we'd be getting a perfect recreation of SH2 on the big screen because that simply wouldn't work but that being said I still don't like what's been shown, the tone feels really off to me.

I'm glad you're optimistic about it, Oct but I'm really not a fan of what we've seen from that trailer it doesn't feel anything like Silent Hill 2 at all to me. I did like the first Silent Hill movie despite not enjoying some of the changes so maybe it'll surprise me but I'm not holding my breath.

Also side note I think dog Nemmy would've been a good in-between of coat less Nem and big meat blob Nem, its weird we didnt get his coat less look since it seems like it would be pretty easy to model and rig??? At least he didnt get super wide like Mr X lmao.
