I'm still here - or rather 'in the other place', chugging along. Hope you're doing OK Steph xx

Lyme Regis is a lovely place. I always think of "The French Lieutenant's Woman" with Sarah Woodruff gazing out to sea from the Cobb & a wild sea with waves crashing!

I'm sorry you lost your quieter space & are back in the bright lights, noise and no sleep big ward. It's horrible environment when you have ME. And sorry too that you have post-op issues that need attention so an early release is not happening. More hugs on their way to you xx

Ah Mary! What a to do! I'm so sorry multiple bones are broken & will take much time & patience to mend. I'm glad they put you in your own room. ME & broken leg & hurty ankle are not a good mix. Hope that blackbird appreciated your funeral rite. Sending hugs to my friend xx

It's simple with wood pigeons. It's either sex or food they're thinking about or both.

A pedicure too! That's proper pampering. I gave up on ironing a long time ago too but can manage hairdrying OK. I hope you left a decent tip for yourself?

Plus she was conceived out of wedlock so her parents gave her a more suitable DoB. Lol!

My gran was born on 30/4 but always celebrated her b/day on 1st May because she thought it was a better day!
My great aunt Minnie got progressively younger for the dates she gave on her passport and then marriage certificate.

A couple of my family members could not be relied upon about their date of birth, so birth certificates are necessary to confirm.

I found FH research very hard to tear myself away from. It's like doing a jigsaw. You say 'just one more search....I'll just look at...'
I tried doing some more research last year but had to give up as it was too much for my brain to handle! All that scrolling down to find names etc.

They must have asked him what his 2nd name was & he said William. And that became his surname & all his childrens' for a while. It took 20 yrs for the family to reappear as Phillips.

I spent a long time looking for my great grandma Annie Phillips, dad was Charles William Phillips. I worked out eventually he was on 2 census returns as Charles, surname William.

That's very intriguing. A shipping worker with a taste for G&T? I bet digging out that air raid shelter was hard work too.

Good luck to AI in transcribing old records. I volunteered for a while transcribing for FREEBMD & I found the handwriting very difficult to work out at times.

I have a habit too of researching non-family members. I spent ages tracking the family of someone who had a brass plate on a desk my Gran owned. She was nothing to do with our family. The desk would have picked up 2nd hand. I'm just nosey about other people's lives.
