Keep your DNS provider separate from your CDN separate from your webhost, so you can swap out any one of them as necessary, whether for economic or as it were today, reliability reasons. And make sure those services themselves […]

π Happy ordinal pi day! (314th day of the year)

No, it should not be the US-centric March 14th, which most of the world writes as 14/3 or 14-3.

Science and mathematics are international, without borders, not specific to any one country or culture. As scientists and mathematicians we should […]

Great #indieweb sessions at #btconf #Berlin!

Yesterday, Sacha Judd (@sachajudd.com) reminded us to “teach someone …. something about building for the web”, and to “take back control of your feeds, your attention, and … go exploring again”. She encouraged us to “build healthy online […]

Sunday was my 20th #Wikipedia editing anniversary.

I have created:
* over 25 content articles (that have survived), averaging just over 1 per year
* over 100 redirects to make it easier to find pages, and to find topics which are only documented as sections of existing pages.

This year I’ve […]

What are the things on your bucketlist that being a billionaire would make no difference?

When I was in Berlin at the end of last month, I was chatting with my pal Mo, and noted a sticker I’d seen that said “ELON MUSK DIDN’T GET INTO BERGHAIN” with a QR code that linked to […]

Ran my 13th Bay to Breakers race in 1:55:31 today! 4min+ faster than last year.

Once again the Midnight Runners crew cheered runners in Hayes Valley at the park a couple of blocks before the hill.

Felt better than I did last year, more able to sustain a moderate pace.

One quick pitstop in […]
