Got the opportunity to watch #BRINGHERBACK last night... I haven't been keeping as up to date with new release #horror this year (new baby), but this is a strong contender for my favourite this year!

Saw a trailer for a remake of "I Know What You Did Last Summer" last night and got a little mad again about the massive influx of remakes Horror has been getting... It got me thinking though, what horror film NEEDS a remake?

I've said it before, I'll say it again - War movies are Horror movies.
(I just finally watched All Quiet on the Western Front)

Our 4 month old hasn't figured out how to laugh by breathing out yet, so currently she does these sharp inhales that makes her sound like Jimmy Carr... Really hoping she grows out of it...

Being hit by the entirety of Deepseek R1's thought process before it gives an answer gives me a new appreciation for how my wife must feel when I braindump about anything I'm interested in...

Well, somehow I have found myself getting set up with neovim and tmux as my new IDE... This will either be amazing or very hard and harrowing.

Do you have a inconsolable newborn? Try listening to chainsaw noises - apparently babies love the sounds of deforestation or something... I'm not kidding, this works, it's wild

I wonder how much of an impact pay-to-read subscriptions for news websites has on the trend for people to read and act purely on headlines... I know that there are likely larger factors at play, but it's gotta be part of the problem

I've been reading (and listening to) Infinite Jest by David Foster Wallace for the last 2 months - I'm nowhere near finishing it, as I had planned to by the end of the year. I'll treat this thread as a bit of a journal to mark my favourite parts and thoughts along the way 😊

There is nothing more terrifying than starting your day after a night of dealing with a restless newborn to find that your coffee machine has just stopped working

Added to watchlist
You should watch Jay Dahl’s THERE ARE MONSTERS (2013), in which some graduate students making a film discover a quiet, insidious apocalypse happening all around them. Invasion Of The Body Snatchers by way of Unedited Footage Of A Bear / This House Has People In It. Feels evil.

I think the most important think is to link the data quality to business outcomes, e.g. without this fixed you won't be able to do the personalization that you care about. If you get buy in from someone senior you can also build a dashboard highlighting the quality issues.

Thanks for all the suggestions #dataBS folks!

FYI I found a really cool public repository of APIs that actually gets tested by bots to monitor the health of the APIs in the list.
