My heart is so full right now - I had a blast, and I hope all of you did too!

Jodi and Kathanac’s story is one that I personally truly love. It’s worth reading.
Originally this pair of dwarves lacked a story when I wrote them into Ember Wind but I had a rough idea
I finally wrote it and I honestly think, and hope, I did it right

“Liberty & Justice for ALL”
“Love your neighbor as I have loved you”
The parable of the good samaritan
My dad then calls me a lost lamb and refers to me as the prodigal son, something that actually pissed me off
My dad is so convinced he is correct…

I (Oakengrove) woke up and off’d a snake (Druid of Florism) who sought to kill me under false pretenses and I keep his tail as a wall trophy, now the country he’s from wants me dead so I’m gathering allies to hit ‘em hard enough in the 11th hour smack down that they never forget who I am…

Oakengrove:
The paranoid in me says this is a spy attempt, some way to learn my thoughts. The optimist believes in honest intentions.
Perhaps it is the nagging sensation in my mind that tells me I should, but is it the right choice to listen to it?
I wonder who else understands…?

I haven’t explored #FirstDraftFall yet, I need to. Like many other tags that I participate in, the community is always going to be the best part. I just need to interact more

Motivation is big. One of the things that helps me is music and art. I get a lot of inspiration from concept art from games and movies, fanart, scenery paintings, etc.
I need to remind myself that my motto can’t be achieved unless I finish my books first

My progress thus far for #FirstDraftFall has been insufficient to put it lightly. I’ve been struggling to write consistently ever since I moved to night shift back in August
I’ve only added like 2-4k words in the past two weeks. I wrote Heart of Oak’s 100k words in 3 months…

(I’m late, shush)
Name’s Emil Bronze and I’m currently writing Alliance of Oak, Book 2 in the Oakengrove Series. I’m 15 Chapters, 38,000 words in.
Each chapter is shorter but more concise, allowing for more story per word unlike Heart of Oak

Friends to lovers. Me personally, I’ve always liked the idea of dating my best friend. To me, it feels like the next natural step and I try to show that with the characters I write
Jodi & Kathanac Donard are the very embodiment of that and I hope I wrote it right
Is there a particular shape or flavor of relationship arc that you've written more than once, or otherwise want to revisit again and again? Doesn't have to be romantic.

Oakengrove hates surprises. In his current position in the books, a surprise can’t be good. It’s something gone wrong, an unexpected move made. He’s a cold calculator, even if he makes some questionable choices.
A surprise party would scare him into magically warping out.
Does your character enjoy surprises? Or would they prefer that things be routine?
Would they enjoy a surprise party but prefer no dangerous surprises? Or do they crave the excitement, even when there is risk?

For Roderick, It’s Sedel and Dmahdi. They’re the backbone to the warband. Without them, he couldn’t do the things he can currently

How many core characters does your story have?
How many of your cast would you consider central to the story, not side characters?
Are they usually together or does the story have multiple locations at once?
