I've been doing an art challenge this month that I call the, Black & White & Sometimes Grey challenge. Basically, it's me getting back to drawing lined art without colours. The art is quick and simple, and sometimes I have no inspiration for it, but I've soldiered on! Here are some of my faves!
A Stardust Explorer. A person of indeterminate gender in a long cloak. The inside of the cloak is black and scattered with stars. They are wearing white, pointy-toed space boots and a face mask and goggles. Lantern Diver. An angler fish with an oil lantern at the end of it's lure. The picture is predominantly black with only the features illuminated by the oil lamp showing. Shadow Ballerina. A young man strikes a ballet pose. His shadow, cast upon a wall, is that of a ballerina in a tutu. Pumpkin Barber. A ghost with a jack-o-lantern for a head wields a large pair of scissors which is must use with two hands.

Art Fight this year was so much fun that I decided to expand my roster of characters to include these two. New art created just for Art Fight 2026! I might be a bit excited, still.
A curvaceous woman wielding a short-handled axe in each hand. The axes each have a single edge. She has braided white hair down to her knees. There is a banner that reads "Miss Red" which is the name of the character. She wears a high-necked, long-sleeved, floor-length red dress which is her signature colour. She has wolf teeth and gold eyes with black sclera. A banner reads 'Persil' which is the character's name. He is very feminine looking with pale yellow bows and lilac gauzy material in his outfit. He is wearing bloomers and a corset. He has a lot of hair in dreads with most of it tied up in a big ball on top of his head. The rest of his hair is loose. His hair is green and starting from the tips of his hair there is a brown to green ombre effect. He has purple flames and smoke coming from one hand, which indicates he uses magic.

Workers are saying the studio has closed down its doors last Friday.

Progression pics! I almost always start off sketching in hot pink. I don't know where I picked up that habit but it's stuck with me for years! When I refine the sketch, I use multiple colours just to help me make sense of my layers. This picture took 66 layers to make.

I participated in Art Fight this year and drew 19 pictures for people in two weeks! I think that's a new record for me! I can't wait for next July to fight again!

I tried drawing a cottage but then I was taken with an urge to draw stained glass windows so I guess I'm drawing a church now?

I'm pretty happy with this month's sticker club swag! I had the mermaid manufactured as a die-cut vinyl sticker with a matte finish and I made her pirate lover and octopus pal myself and used glittery holographic laminate on both!

Vessar's boots are a pain to lace up but he's too vain to go without them!

I thought I'd post something from January of last year but... this is the only thing I drew last January. January/February is really hard on me, creatively. And this year is worse than most.

Oh ho! I updated my operating system and boom, my computer isn't randomly shutting down anymore. I can put off the decision to buy a replacement laptop for another year! Woo!

I started this journey in the Spring of 2024 and I'm being pushed towards making a decision because my laptop keeps shutting off unexpectedly. Yes, I'm trying to fix it but it's got me thinking, again, about getting a new machine.

These are the first goldfish I drew at the end of 2023! I remember struggling so much to draw them.
