Simon update: neurologist follow up this week says he’s recovering well and seems to be doing as well as could be expected. When we set him on the ground he definitely wants to use his legs to hold himself up, though he isn’t really moving them quite yet.

One week now since our cardigan corgi Simon had back surgery for a herniated disc causing him to lose his ability to walk. Starting to get some tail wags, and some leg kicks when carried in a sling and while having a dream. Long road ahead but things seem to be progressing well.

Few days late but RIP Dave Thomas. Never heard Ubu before picking up the Datapanik 5xCD boxset when I was in high school, just read about them and knew it would slay. "Final Solution" became an instant classic to me, and the last disc full of weird Cleveland rarities was an eye opener.

Amazing set from Michael Rother last night! Just looked it up and realized the drummer is Hans Lempe who played on the second and third Neu! records and with La Düsseldorf.
