🤠 👍
The most prominent anti-Hamas clan leader in Gaza, Yasser Abu Shabab, was killed in an “internal” dispute with other militia members. Abu Shabab and his group of armed men got their start in 2024 by looting aid convoys.
Israeli-backed militia leader killed in ‘internal’ clash in Gaza
The death of Yasser Abu Shabab, a prominent clan leader in Gaza, could threaten Israel’s experiment in arming local militias to challenge Hamas’s rule.

Farm workers stand in solidarity with striking Starbucks workers.

Starbucks baristas have been fighting for a fair union contract for close to 4 years. Just like many farm workers, @sbworkersunited.org is fighting back against greedy union busting employers.

A reporter asks if Mamdani stands by calling Trump a fascist. Mamdani starts to give a delicate answer.

Trump (smiles, pats Mamdani's arm): "That's OK, you can just say yes. It's easier. I don't mind."

it's so funny to watch the far right White House press pool try to bait Trump to say something nasty about Mamdani and every time he's just like "nah this guy rocks"

The NYT sat on it because they like Trump and want him to be king
Chat, is it good when you’re being ruled by an increasingly senile monster, so depraved he’s described by his pal, Jeffrey “Child Molester” Epstein, as “evil beyond belief”?

Why again did the NYT sit on all of this?
Wow.

Jeffrey Epstein writing about Trump in 2018:

"He feels alone and is nuts!!! I told everyone from day one. Evil beyond belief. Mad, and most thought I was speaking metaphorically. It's obvious he could crack. Stormy Daniels? Lies after lies after lies."

I've been reading Mahmood Mamdani's book "Neither Settler nor Native" which has a whole chapter about how Nuremberg was offered as a criminal justice moderate position to avoid the US and UK having to grapple with their own genocidal nation building projects
Nuremburg trials is the moderate position
He said that the agents would throw food at them to eat. The agents threatened to withhold food for a week and to beat him up if he didn't sign deportation papers. He said he saw others refuse and get beaten/receive no food. He signed because he was afraid.

My very simple projection puts Wilson winning by 86 total votes, statistically equal. If yesterday's drop was part of the same sample as today's, then Harrell probably wins by about 1000. If future drops trend further left (not uncommon in Seattle), Wilson will win, albeit by still very narrow gap
JUST IN: Katie Wilson cuts Bruce Harrell's lead by more than half with today's ballot drop, cutting her deficit from 9908 votes to 4300 votes.

She won today's batch of 55,952 ballots by 10%; that's *more* than she needed to win the outstanding ballots by.

Over 50K ballots left to count in Seattle.

people hate hearing this but it's 100% true, creating a huge pay gap between political leaders, their staffs, and other elites is a recipe for corruption. of course the flip side of that is taxes on the rich should be jacked way the hell up
The Mayor of New York only makes $260k. I bet there are police that make more than that in NY with overtime.

We need to pay elected leaders more money and stop pretending it's some sort of calling. They're managing hundreds of billions of dollars in investments and millions of people's lives.

Damn who could have predicted this.
“Three men in black vests entered a NY restaurant claiming to be ICE agents. Inside, they tied a worker’s hands and pulled a garbage bag over the person’s head. Another, believing the burglars’ story, surrendered themselves, only to be kicked to the ground and tied up as the intruders robbed an ATM”
FBI Warns of Criminals Posing as ICE, Urges Agents to ID Themselves
In a bulletin to law enforcement agencies, the FBI said criminal impersonators are exploiting ICE’s image and urged nationwide coordination to distinguish real operations from fakes.

I'll admit I was skeptical of the campaign when it first launched. I was wrong. Hope she wins.
Kat Abugazeh’s campaign has crossed a threshold where the risk she’s taking is significant enough and the actions admirable enough I sorta am past caring if it’s a publicity stunt/brand building exercise or not, it’s still brave and worthy of respect.
