It's been a journey. There are a lot of routes to take. All involve low-level HID C code.

I started with a now defunct Unity Asset. It's now open-source, but unsupported and has issues:

We have a discord link in the game, so the best place would be there for us. If there isn't one, any social media where the game/devs account is active while tagging the account is second best in my opinion.

I find that people generally over complicate their save files. Unless you have a game that requires large amounts of data to be stored like a miecraft world, you could get away with just writing a few values into a txt file.

You can use get_var and store_var using a FileAccess. But I generally prefer using JSON files for saves since it's engine agnostic and easy to just open with a text editor for debugging.
