Keir Starmer could've taken Thames Water back into public hands months ago.

Now he's being blackmailed by the only remaining bidder willing to rescue the utility before it runs out of cash at the end of the month.

Their terms: don't prosecute our crimes.

Water firms have already said they'll increase bosses' salaries to get around any ban on bonuses.

The only way to end the profiteering is to take water out of private hands.
June 6, 2025 at 12:38 PM
The government bent over backward to hand Thames Water over to KKR.

Now they've pulled out and Thames only has cash to operate until the end of the month.

Water for 16 million people is now at risk all over a £27,000 donation?

Thames Water secured a £3 billion emergency loan three months ago.
June 3, 2025 at 7:59 PM
Thames Water is a monopoly with 16 million trapped customers. Yet KKR – a predatory private equity firm – doesn't even want to own it.

If public ownership isn't the answer and private investors won't invest, then maybe Steve Reed has no idea what he's doing.

“Sources close to the situation told the BBC that the politicisation of the water industry was a major disincentive for investors to put money into the sector.”

Customers are scaring multi-billion pound private equity firms off from investing in water.

Let's keep it going 👉 takebackwater.uk

KKR drops out of plan to rescue Thames Water.

Not even the most predatory private equity firms are interested in this failed utility.

Time to take Thames back into public hands.

Ofwat could fine Thames Water enough to put it out of business or revoke its operating licence.

These costs will just be passed on to the customer to pay.

We refuse to pay anymore and continue to bail water companies out.

Join us in building a mass non-payment campagin to takebackwater.uk and bring water into public hands.

Keir Starmer three days ago: "Bonuses for failure? We won’t stand for it."

Today: Thames Water bosses may have received £100,000s in bonuses funded by bailout cash weeks ago.
May 23, 2025 at 7:11 PM
Correction: Thames Water halts ONE bosses' bonus scheme.

CEO Chris Weston won't get three additional bonuses funded from Thames' emergency £3 billion loan.

But he's still in line to make millions from his regular salary and bonus – which we're paying for through our bills.
May 23, 2025 at 7:17 AM
We all already know water firms are routinely dumping sewage illegally.

Fine them out of existence.
May 21, 2025 at 9:45 AM
Thames Water boss Chris Weston was paid a £195,000 bonus for 3 months work last year and is expected to make £2+ million from his regular salary and bonuses this year.

Government ministers think this makes them look tough, but private water bosses are still laughing all the way to the bank.

Thames Water: a water firm spending £200 million on lawyers to stop the government putting it into administration.

Our bills are funding this – all so they can keep ripping us off.

It's long past time for the government to step in and put Thames Water out of its misery.
May 19, 2025 at 8:52 AM
Joe, a Take Back Water spokesperson, was on LBC Radio this week discussing the plans from Thames Water bosses to pay themselves mega-bonuses out of emergency funding.

Even the presenter agrees: this is private ownership working exactly as intended.

🤮 "We have created incentives to try to retain our most precious resource, which is our senior management team."

This is the chair of Thames Water, a firm literally in control of our most precious resource, trying to justify multi-million pound bonuses for its failing bosses.

Please don't fine us, we've got bonuses to pay.
May 14, 2025 at 9:16 AM
Thames Water is on the brink of collapse – and will use emergency cash to pay out huge sums in executive bonuses.

Water company bosses are making off with what they can before the whole thing comes crumbling down!
