Our warning was for 150 km/h winds, which is apparently off the Beaufort Scale.
Seems like the eye is making its way through now, and then it’ll be getting rough again.

Keep getting these typhoon wind warnings. Finally went to the website explaining the scale — we’re at level 14, which sounds about right based on the racket that wind outside is making. Stuff strewn all over the street outside my house already.

Thank goodness for a good landlord who has a snake guy on speed dial. Didn’t like the part where I had to help lift the furniture to get the rest of it loose, but thankful it’s gone now. *shudder*

A little rattle down here in Taitung. First time getting the mobile earthquake alert in a couple of months. Could tell it was local before the data was published because there wasn’t a peep on my timeline about it. XD

Well no wonder the rest of Taiwan on here isn’t mentioning the earthquake and no wonder the alert came well after it was over. First one centered in Taitung since I moved here. Yikes.

I briefly convinced myself that I had imagined that earthquake because 1) I rarely feel earthquakes in Taitung and 2) nobody I follow posted about it. 😅 #vindication

Day after Obama’s first inauguration at the Newseum (RIP 😢) & the day before the ceremony at the presidential viewing box. AmeriCorps alumni carrying flags from every state got a standing ovation from the Obamas when we passed during the parade. Was worth flying back from Taiwan not to miss this!
