It was nearly impossible to choose excerpts to share here - I would post the whole book if I could. Every passage is a mountain of wisdom playfully told, a timeless and colorful quilt woven by queer survival and breaking free that rings powerfully true from its era to ever more relevant today.

Sometimes, your gun malfunctions and your stage planning goes out the window. I've never had any issues with my G47 until this point. I'm chalking it up to a combo of lack of lubricant in a lot of rain on a gun that may still be in the break-in period - it ran fine after adding more lube.

Cold rain, cold hands, cold start. Still, these are often among my best stages of any given competition. It's a little counterintuitive to the idea of being warmed up, but there's something to having a set of fresh eyes and a fresh mind. Are there patterns you've noticed for when you're locked in?

Even if you've attended a stop the bleed class before, even if you're qualified far beyond this level, it's still good to take an hour every once in a while to attend. These can be found across the country and are often free, like the one I just attended hosted by the American College of Surgeons.

I love orb weaver season. 🥰

Shooting doubles is the most simple and efficient way to assess your fundamentals, especially sight tracking and recoil control. The idea is to only worry about the time between a first and second follow-up shot and your accuracy. Simply start your shot timer, take your time, and line up on target

The old world is dying, and the new world struggles to be born: now is the time of monsters.

Many years ago, the very first thing I put on my first AR-15 build was a set of steel Magpul MBUS Pros before installing a proper optic on that rifle. Even back then, I would have been better-served just saving that money for a quality optic.

There are no iron sights in this photo. There are at least two independent sighting systems on each of these rifles (the middle has three). The middle and the right don't need batteries to use their primary sight.

Redundant sighting systems are good. Optics are best in most cases.

Reject BUIS.
Embrace secondary optic.

After running a USPSA match with this rig, I have some initial thoughts. But first, let me outline what it even is the setup here. The belt is a Double Alpha Academy Lynx belt with the ratchet buckle, DAA ratchet inner belt, DAA XiP magazine pouches, Ben Stoeger Pro Shop BOSS hanger

The more I shoot, the more I appreciate just how much of this discipline is a mental exercise. Stage planning, reloads, and footwork aside here, one struggle really stood out to me during the whole match - target focus.

I’d like to take a moment to offer some initial impressions of the second version of the Lead & Steel Pandora PB-3 micro red dot sight. If you haven’t already, be sure to check out my review of the first version on YT. That said, I’m even more impressed by this latest iteration!

I finally did it, I attended a USPSA match, and a classifier at that! This was a great way to start out with some simple stages and to set a baseline to see where I’m at.

Now this is podracing.

Trying out a new Double Alpha Academy rig for competition, this should be fun!

The whole thing. Here's the final result, which you can see had to be quite subtle compared to my Glocks.

As for your palm, was that skin irritation or more of a bruised feeling? I always leave the range with the bruised feeling from slamming mags on reloads.

Contouring a polymer trigger guard on a handgun will ensure a custom fit for your mitts and is easy to do! For those not carrying on body against bare skin, I also strongly recommend a stipple job to maximize your grip potential. Here's a little video guide, enjoy! 😎

That's an awful lot of excuses for simply not getting a Glock for no good reason. We've evolved past Gen 3 (the Gen 5 is miles beyond superior), so unless you're in California, that makes no sense either.

A few things I've added to my EDC lately. In addition to my usual tin with ear plugs, acetaminophen, and ibuprofen, I also carry a couple of cigarettes. Whether you smoke or not, these are basically de-escalation sticks. Sometimes, the answer to someone harassing you on the street is to simply share
