Love it, sounds so much freer without the strumming and drumming. You're less aware of the beat/barlines. The O'Hara-Smith singers also come across more easily.

Just imagine you're licking Trump's ass while you eat it, you sorry piece of shit with apparently no cooking skills.

That level of detail is fantastic.

I'm sooo tired right now, but I think Come Together, maybe others have this, maybe part of the era's kit experimentation. I'm not a drummer, but I wonder if someone who is has noticed this and tried to reproduce it. Some kind of drum tuning/stroke location effect?
November 26, 2025 at 5:34 AM
I should add that this effect is on the final released recording, obviously. One of about a thousand things I love about the song. They chose well, the final track is better paced, less busy sounding even with the thick texture and many moving parts.

Ringo's intro makes the ear perceive more descending pitches than actually exist as he moves down the kit. Might be hitting different parts of the drum intuitively that produces that effect, but it's effin' greatness. Slightly less percepted on the stereo version and I miss it.

At night I wake up with the sheets soakin' wet and a freight train runnin' through the middle of my head

OT, but I think John maybe had a tic. In some conversations/interviews he does "something" with his hands, looking at them as he does it. And it seems to be when he's saying something a bit cheeky. Shrug, might be looking for something not there.

Side thought -- I have British friends who tell me they have never made Xmas pudding, they just buy it prepared. It's not hard to make! I think the hardest part in U.S. urban areas is finding suet. The prep and process is not hard.

Is GDP a measure of Grift as a portion of the economy? That might be low.
