Apologies for poor wording Founded by Amazing Red.

Santana and Bayne are champions
April 23, 2025 at 6:26 PM
TBF he runs House of Glory, a wrestling company started by Amazing Red and Mike Santana and Megan Bayne are his current respective Heavyweight Champions. So he's about as relevant to Wrestling as he'll ever be in 2025

Jesus fucking Christ. That's dumb. That is certainly not representative of the vast majority of AEW fans!
April 22, 2025 at 7:56 AM
I block the disingenuous takes and its no loss to me. If their only way of saying they didn't enjoy Wrestlemania is to slate AEW then they are gone. It stinks up the AEW feeds.

However that's people being negative/tribal dicks.. no issues with actual fans

Agree but my understanding is he wanted to stick with Fenix which held him back significantly. Hopefully WWE realise what they have and dont just get bored or ship him to NXT Mexico

It was already dead when he bought it. He stopper WWE butchering it and had been trying to secure a long term future for it. Who has been lost since he bought it? Gresham? He was the main man at time of sale. Hardly one of the greats.

TBH I think your take is disingenuous. Comparing apples & shite.

AEW literally bought ROH, which had gone under, to save it from WWE buying it & stripping it for parts.. WWE was furious that TK paid well over the odds to secure it. He's kept it going while still trying to get it a TV deal to give it a long term future.

The AEW and WWE models are polar opposites.
April 21, 2025 at 6:14 PM
Fair.. although he is finally letting people go. I think he's still hoping for the extra show and/or ROH TV deal as well
April 21, 2025 at 5:17 PM
White & Ospreay already had their runs at the top and elevated others. They were WWE bound if not for AEW and will almost certainly appear for NJPW while under AEW contract
April 21, 2025 at 5:15 PM
Who are we talking about? Very few non Japanese top stars stay long term. Devitt, Styles & Nakamura, Kushida, Kenta jumped to WWE without second thought. AEW became a better option for them. When he signed young talent like Knight & Takeshita he let them also sign with NJPW.

WWE/TKO use their money to try and create a monopoly. Tony Khan uses his to create a better industry with more competition and better pay and benefits for talent. Night and day.
April 21, 2025 at 3:38 PM
AEW has been slowly downsizing its roster for a while now. They also allow talent not being utilised to work elsewhere while still being paid. You are literally the only person I have heard in over a year (that isnt a WWE troll) claim AEW events dont live up to the hype.
April 21, 2025 at 3:38 PM
Go on then... Explain how AEW is a "toxic waste" comparable to the MAGA company
April 21, 2025 at 6:58 AM
In fairness i think the feelings you describe are exactly what the booking was aiming for. If the trios reaction is anything to go by then, when Mox is finally beaten people are going to lose their minds. It will be bigger than Danielson at All in. It's what they do after that which is key I think
April 20, 2025 at 6:02 PM
I would argue Will, Swerve and Hangman all work but perhaps need the payoff less than a Darby type. I said the other day its a shame Yuta hasn't upped his mic skills as his story of coming out from the shadow of his ex WWE mentors/bullies would be a near perfect payoff.
April 20, 2025 at 5:51 PM
Agreed. Butfor me, the reason was because of consistent booking for months and months leading into it to make every segment (ok maybe not MJFs!) so meaningful and effective... And finishing with a long awaited Deathriders payoff.
April 20, 2025 at 5:47 PM
The final step is for Mox to put over a young talent big in the payoff match and set AEW for years. It may seem like the main event scene is a drag but it's deliberate and is being done by the same person who booked the Hangman Swerve feud.
April 20, 2025 at 5:24 PM
Bear in mind the booking of the main event has been key to the growing success and exposure of AEW. Sales and viewing figures have been on the up for all of Mox's reign. He is the established draw and he is getting eyes on the better in-ring but less well known talent..

This video also showcases just how good a ref @dabryceisright.bsky.social is. There are 3 world class performers making magic in that ring!
April 20, 2025 at 4:00 PM
Yes. It's the timing of the announcement I'm referring to though.
April 20, 2025 at 2:30 PM
The reason i think it might be true is WWE is suddenly announcing a much less exciting Lucha show in the US straight after Tony announces a groundbreaking spectacular show in Arena Mexico. It really steals their Thunder but makes them look like they are reacting to AEW as usual
April 20, 2025 at 1:37 PM
I sort of wonder if the opposite is true. If TK was fully aware this announcement was coming and stole their thunder by announcing what is likely to be a more popular show before they could do their big Mania reveal
April 20, 2025 at 1:11 PM
I agree but it hasn't been helped by the management and talent spending much of this weeks media digging at AEW. That riled the fans and they end up taking it out on fed fans.

It's been better since AEW management started turning the other cheek but some of the interviews this week were a bit much
