Both Michigan & USC could go to market tomorrow as independent football schools and rake in just as much as Notre Dame does from its NBC deal. The Big Ten's "threat" is gratuitously reckless at best and ridiculously unhinged at worst.

Quite the gambit to go ahead and hope Michigan & USC stand down and join the rest of the Big Ten in agreeing to terms. This could get extremely messy in a hurry.
Big Ten wants some kind of private equity or capital plan; Michigan & USC oppose it. Conf may move ahead anyway.
