I did a ginormous painting on paper of Kali Ma. These are some of the studies. I haven’t seen the actual painting in years. I keep it rolled up in a tube. It’s horrifically fragile. Yesterday I went to see Tamara de Lempicke at the De Young. Fantastic show. Amazing artist with a colorful life and the glamour of a movie star from the thirties and forties. This little unfinished sketch of her lover, Ira Perrot, caught my eye. Those eyes!
