I don't think your uniform has any problematic elements to it. Yes, British colonialism was bad but I don't automatically assume someone is a bad person for putting their Great-Grandfather's medals on display. I would assume that for an Iron Cross.

I have a Napoleonic era outfit because I talk about swords, and my primary study is from that time period. Even then, I was careful to have it suggest Waterloo rather than the Colonial theater.

They were on their first date, too. Imagine taking someone on a date, and then accidentally breaking their fingers. Or being taken on one and getting your fingers broken.

Also I once had to stop some newbies who were going to fight because the club forgot to give them any gloves at all.

It's mostly just about how little protection we used for how hard we fought. Like, I used singlestick gloves and a helmet with no back of the head protection for longsword.

Hanging out with larpers just gave me another "damn I was unsafe" moment talking about my old training.

Schedule changes are only as bad as the one doing the scheduling makes them. If your boss is good they will work with you to figure out the best schedule. If your boss sucks, the schedule will suck.
