The latest on the extremist efforts in US. 👀
NEWS: We filed a brief to challenge extremist efforts to invalidate the National Firearms Act and roll back registration requirements to purchase machine guns, silencers, “destructive devices,” and other weapons

This threatens our communities’ safety – so we're pushing back in court.

Two months ago I wrote about why my law firm is litigating 63 voting and election cases. Today it is 65 cases covering more than half the country. Eleven of them involve redistricting.

Where are the big law firms? Why isn't legacy media covering this? www.democracydocket.com/opinion/why-...

Everyone (esp media) pay attention. In 2021 almost every Republican attacked the Biden administration and State dept for being too slow in approving Afghanistan special visas as Afghanistan fell.

Now they are attacking Biden for doing what they asked him to do.

This is what GOP has done to NC. They control both chambers, with a large majority - and that's because they gerrymandered the maps over and over again.
I’m at the table - ready and willing to come together with the General Assembly on a fiscally responsible budget that invests in our people. We’re the only state in the nation whose legislature still hasn’t passed a budget. It’s long past time. www.johnlocke.org/the-budget-f...
The budget failure and its consequences
Now, North Carolina stands alone. It is the only state in the nation that was expected to pass a budget in 2025 and failed to do so. Even more striking: the General Assembly never even sent a budget t...

Arguing in an aggressive way is not healthy for the relationship. You may like it to blow off steam, but it's not a sign of healthy relationship or a healthy mind and it scares the kids, too. However, discussing a topic calm and collected, with respectful words is healthy. Using a timer can help.

I had no idea that you still have to pay for insurance if you're over 65 if you want your doctor visits and your medication somewhat covered; and paying at least $200/month just to have it is a lot of money for many retirees. I have no doubt that the medical community will rise up against this change. Practical nurses are too embedded and too important delivering real care to real patients.

However I also want to say how much this smacks of misogyny.

Nurses who voted for Trump better rethink their alignment to the GOP.
The Department of Education is proposing a definition that could strip nurse practitioners and CRNAs of “professional degree” status.

Chiropractors keep it. Nurses risk losing it. And that change would fall hardest on women in healthcare.

This is political and it is sexist.

NC needs to vote Republicans out of office. This is irresponsible. We have to let them go.
Speaker Hall and Senator Berger made the time to gerrymander our state but couldn’t find the time to protect people’s health care or pass a budget that pays our teachers, law enforcement, or state employees.
