I hate that I absolutely agree with this. Like, I'm all for creative people making money (it is a buisness, afterall) but it's a much worse experience for the viewer.
Wicked & The Hobbit are both beautiful works destroyed by greed of movie creators to turn short stories into multiple long movies. If Wicked was one 2 hour movie, rather than 2 movies totally over 6 hours combined, it could have been tolerable.
