Artist in exile searching for community. Be warned. Don't mess with me. No bots or lovesick variants. To friends I'm a pussycat. But annoy me & find me vindictive. Otherwise just fine & dandy.

My first post over a year ago on bluesky was a nod to a favourite Welsh poet from my misspent youth coupled to the discovery of a small hydroelectric dam that moved runoff water through a wooden tunnel to a canal conecting a series of lakes & used by schools to teach whitewater canoeing in safety. ♥︎
There's a force, a 'green fuse' that animates us all. We make use of this power in various ways, profiting where we can. Of 'free' energy, for example, of unihibited exploitation, knowing all the time, our lives are the price of forbearance, our negligence is paramount.

Remembering Wright Morris on his birthday 🎂
📷 Judy Dater, 1975

"As much as he was interested in people, Morris was equally obsessed, in both his prose and photography, with what he saw as the populated emptiness of abandoned spaces."

I heard a bird sing
In the dark of December.
A magical thing
And sweet to remember.

"We are nearer to Spring
Than we were in September,”
I heard a bird sing
In the dark of December.

French explorer Louis-Armand de Lom d’Arce de Lahontan said this apparently in 1702.
