it makes sense since the braids look complicated asgfhd someone should rlly ought to do a reconstruction based on this!! but now that you brought up the commoner hairstyle it also reminds me of this specific ponytail (?) worn by some groups in mindanao but the knot in the illusts look bigger...

this malay woman’s bun is styled is also similar to tipo del pais illustrations. i’ve read that hair accessories filipino women use to wear had a trembling effect, honestly not too dissimilar with ID and MY accessories ive seen (again, more reason to bring it back why did we stop wearing this 😭😭)

ive been thinking abt this traditional hairstyle that was worn a lot in the sp era of ph. prob need to find more pics but this hairstyle was actually common all over maritime sea ( all the more reason to bring it back tbh, im tired of the plain buns 😔)
