Same here. Half our income. Bills going late or partially-paid. My spouse still having to work (and work OVERTIME) for no money.
And we were happy to muddle through, because the cause was worth it.
Absolutely disgusted with Senate Dems.

My family has been without half our income for 40 days. It has been.. very hard.
We are willing to feel that pain so people can have health care next year, or to undo these illegal recissions.
We are not willing to have been put through this for NOTHING.

Seconded.
Sucks like hell to be down an income especially at a time like this, but for all of this to have meant NOTHING, to have gotten us NOWHERE?

Please spare a thought for all the Federal workers who are pulling unpaid overtime today because Congress not only can't get its shit together, it can't do so during the standard work week.
My wife has had no time off this weekend and is currently working for a pinky-swear.

My ask of any science enthusiasts who tell the story of Rosalind Franklin:
Don't make her life be about the DNA debacle. She died far too young, but she was a promising scientist in her own right, a mentor and scientific author.
Not for Watson or Crick, but for her legacy.

Yup. Watson was an ass who mistreated Franklin both pre- and posthumously, but she was respected in her field and was not robbed of a Nobel.
Raising a glass for Rosalind Franklin tonight. James Watson absolutely did her dirty.

My wife is currently working for no pay because she's considered essential.
The GOP candidate said, repeatedly, that us losing our jobs and our marriage because we're gay was, quote, "not discrimination".

My folks are in town, and my dad brought me a large bucket of dehusked black walnuts.
If you ever have a chance to eat black walnuts, you should. They are absolutely superior, flavor-wise, to English walnuts.
Bring a hammer and a sturdy nail or nut pick.

The highlight of trick or treating tonight:
Young man, I’m guessing around 12, approaches with a gaggle of other kids.
“Hey, this is the house I was telling you about!”
Apparently our ghost cat decorations have made some neighborhood chatter. 😁
