Try taking a 6–8" healthy stem cutting, remove lower leaves, dip in rooting hormone (optional - can be found in most garden stores), and plant in moist soil. Keep humid and out of harsh sun. In a few weeks, roots should form and start a new #mulberry!

Sometimes they’re just hard to spot or have found a better nearby area to nest! Fireflies love low-light environments, but streetlights / light pollution can disrupt their mating signals (their glow!). They lay eggs in moist soil om mid-summer, so even holding off on mowing for a few weeks can help.

It’s absolutely true! Spraying has increased over the last few decades. But the good news is, fireflies (and pollinators, birds, etc.) can bounce back surprisingly fast if we just give them a chance.

Even small actions like leaving a patch of wildflowers or mowing less often makes a difference! 🌿
