My apologies for the strong language, but...!

Make sure that your attorney knows how to listen. Every family has a different song to play; a different story to tell. Find an attorney who hears what you are saying, and knows how to help.

Do you take care of a little boy, or an old man? Ensure their needs are met by setting up a proper estate plan. See to it that, even when you are gone, they will be taken care of.

And, for now, while you are still around... pay attention.

Something to consider, when certain types of legislation are contemplated:

Whether you take care of your children, or your parents, pay attention. They need you, and need care - even if you are not around. Update your estate plan today. Ensure that we pay attention to those we love the most.

A word to the wise:

When you consider a mortgage, a will, or any legal document, make certain that you understand every term in the paper you are signing. If you don't understand something, ask your lawyer to explain it. If your lawyer is unwilling or unable to explain it... get a different lawyer.
