In what is absolutely not news to anyone who knows, this is simply the *most* delightful book - RC Sherriff’s The Fortnight in September - which I’ve eked out this past week after starting it during my own Weekend Away in September last weekend in Helsinki.

There We Were. Recommend the Sondheim, if only to eavesdrop on the bewildered audience chat after the end. Plus, it's funny. And the performances are, largely, great, despite some dodgy (lousy) US accents.

Endless horror, true, but the lion dancing in Chinatown today was fab and I am clinging to hopes of luck given how close we were, especially later on, in a supermarket, while another lion gobbled a head of lucky lettuce.
