The insurance companies have massive expertise in annual actuarial adjustments for rebuilding costs. These values divorce sale price from tangible cost so perhaps could be a good base for revaluation?

Fascinating article on a talented actor, except he did not "give birth to twins". He did not go through hours/days of excuciating pain to push out a bowling ball from his vagina, or have a surgeon slit open his abdomen before weeks of post op pain. Stop erasing women.

Rusbridger has written about our tendency to treat too many journos as reliable on areas we don't know EVEN WHEN we have heard those same journos make fundamental errors reporting on things we do know. Using specialist not lobby journos should be the norm.

Utter bollocks to think DEI (EDI in the UK) replaced rather than supported merit -unless you think that merit was disproportionately concentrated in the white male bit of the population? Some talented white men are now losing out to talented non-white women - that's the pendulum in equilibrium.

It's standard French- I was a passenger at the front of the bus when a primary school group got on and all but one said "Bonjour M'sieur" to the driver AND "Bj Madame" to me (we of course reciprocated). The one who didn't was made by the teacher to come back and mind his manners.

We, and Russia, already gave Ukraine security guarantees in 1995 in Budapest. Why on Earth would they trust these again.

If you assumed English meant everyone from the UK we would think you were as arrogant and ill-informed as the many, many English people who do precisely this.

Needed to go from X to Y yesterday, online had 10+ ticket options including must/does not go through Z. As a non local how TF am I supposed to know track routes? Just sell me a tix from X to Y.

So grateful to have been in France where we locked down early AND rules were clear. UK regs seemed ridiculously complicated at a time clarity was essential.
