I was @Nora_Carrington with The Atlantic's/Coates' Horde and at Musk's place. Self-portrait by Dora Carrington, my previous internet avatar. Philosopher by training, political junkie by default. Reader, critic, thinker, and writer.
I wrote an encouraging reply to a white Boomer guy who confessed he was going to his first protest and didn't know how. I replied I could relate to his WASP-y discomfort with exuberance and assured him he would not have to dance. Suggested he simply enjoy it and smile a lot.

I turn google's AI option off and on with a Chrome extension. Q: Did Jackie Onassis know her grandson (he was 1 yo when she died)? I was sent down a rabbit hole that insisted Caroline Kennedy Schlossberg was Jack S's grandmother, not mother and his paternal g'ma was "unknown" (she was Mae Hirsch).

How many people will eat the gray leftovers of processed foods without dyes to make them look "natural?" RFKJr is an idiot. It will take a lot of work and a shit ton of money to get real food in the hands of every American but it's a worthy goal. Michelle Obama was excoriated for trying. Think why.

The drop down menu only goes through Arkansas. I'm unable to scroll further or type to jump further in the alphabet. I'm in VA and want to send the pie chart to my GOP Rep.

I've been in convos w/ academic friends wrt whether this is or is not the fall of Rome. I'm obsessed w/ the dea[r]th of literacy, broadly understood. It's the same thing as the loss of intelligence and the deification of the trivial. The Celebration of the Stupid will be a chapter heading in 2150.

50 years ago, Biden was a mid-lib race-confused white guy. "Far right segregationist" isn't anywhere in his DNA, his voting history, his past or certainly his presidency. "Far right segregationist" is Thurman, Wallace, maybe Sessions. Please don't be stupid; we can't afford it.

The debate would not have mattered except that people with power to make it matter made it matter. I don't know if that was Harris folks, DNC folks, ancient regime Clinton folks -- don't know; don't care. 45 can't speak a complete sentence; don't tell me it was the debate.

You don't understand or are overlooking lame-duckness. Yes, he should have withdrawn earlier. But not stood by his "I'm just the placeholder/transition guy" bullshit from immediately after his win in 2020. None of his significant legislative achievements would have been possible with that.

In almost every respect, best Democratic president in your lifetime. We have to start putting blame where it belongs: the mostly R voters who elected him TWICE! Sick of the condescension that excuses, ignores, white and sanewashes Trump voters' xenophobia, hate, & Qstupidity. Biden didn't elect him.

weaksauce. Trump and all those who voted *against* certification 1/6-7/2020 should have been arrested on 1/8. Too aggressive? How about appointing a special prosecutor 1/8. How about any kind of investigation AT ALL b/f Hutchinson made DOJ look like idiots and cover-ups? MG worst AG since Mitchell.

I cannot find this. Across the top I have only the items I selected (hist, books) plus a few Blue sky created ones (follow, discover). On my Chromebook there is no right margin anything. Left choices are as before with no mention of trending.

You do know Scalia isn't on the Court anymore, right? He died in 2016 and Obama nominated Garland to replace him. Trump nominated Gorsuch after the end of the Obama administration and Gorsuch was confirmed. It's Alito who, in addition to Thomas, should not just be impeached. They should be ARRESTED.

Especially when we realize the best & brightest still managed to get us stuck in Vietnam for 15+ years. Even granting the bestness and brains, results were at best mixed. Now with the worst and dumbest -- no argument there -- things can't go anywhere but downhill.

I'm saying family ties exist across generations; there's memory and knowledge there. The Archibalds who fled the rev for Nova Scotia were long dead. Their g'grandchildren, g'g'grandchildren and my mother and her cousin still were family to one another. Multiply this by a million US families.

I'm 69. My grandfather (b. 1895) lived until I was 30. One of his best friends was his wife's g'mother, who was a Civil War widow. Two 80 yo women laid back to back. It's all right here. My mother (b. 1925) was still in touch with Loyalist cousins who fled the Rev. War. We're still babies to hist.
