I was @Nora_Carrington with The Atlantic's/Coates' Horde and at Musk's place. Self-portrait by Dora Carrington, my previous internet avatar. Philosopher by training, political junkie by default. Reader, critic, thinker, and writer.
If the US military is deployed to blue cities and they fire on US citizens, would blue states have to secede from the United States and seek admission to NATO before they can expect Article 5 assistance to fight back? Why or why not? Discuss.

. @timmiller.bsky.social Loved your conversation with Jonathan Rauch. Lots to chew on. Suggestion: Add The Assault on the State, Stephen E. Hanson & Jeffrey S. Kopstein to the show notes. It's a/the source of Rauch's ideas about patrimonialism.

If you experience a tragic miscarriage in the US
you too may be arrested. Or die.

We need a DAILY press conference with the Dems best messengers (AOC, Jasmine Crockett, Pete Buttigieg, Jamie Raskin, etc) breaking down exactly how Trump and Musk are destroying our country and debunking their bullshit.

Stream it on every single platform. Every single day. For as long at it takes.

. @clairecmc.bsky.social An alternative to your comments Monday on @datelinenbc.bsky.social. For your consideration. I didn't have the Lincoln ref. when I made this argument so I thank @civilwarmemory.bsky.social for the help.
I don't think Biden's pardoning of his son dishonors the office of the presidency any more than Abraham Lincoln's decision on December 14, 1863 to pardon his sister-in-law, whose husband served the Confederacy. In both times there are much larger issues at stake. 🗃️

Caught you on @thebulwark.bsky.social and am wondering if you have a reading list of books outlining effective tactics from other countries. Hungary, Poland, etc. Super helpful if they were collected in one place. TIA
