Superdoxies: Dewey & Rocky
@superdoxies.bsky.social
We're Dewey and Rocky. A couple of dachshunds living in the PNW. We love naps, snacks and the fireplace.

This account will be mostly pics of us 🐶 & stories about other animals and nature. No news or politics. Just a "pawsitive" experience.
Pinned
Because we're doxies, we naturally assume everyone is interested in us. We base this on the reaction we get whenever we go ANYWHERE. All we hear is "Look at the wienies" or "they're so cute."

Looking forward to making friends & posting pupdates of our lives.🐶

Now that's a LOOK!!!! 🤣🤣🤣

It's raining out here so our #throwbackthursday is us enjoying a summer day relaxing in the sun.

Our plans today include snoozing, eating treats & only going outside when we can't hold it any longer. Sometimes mom & dad are surprised at exactly HOW long we can go. 🤣

Today's #goodnews started when a bride called off her wedding & didn't want her deposits to go to waste.

She contacted a nonprofit Parents Helping Parents & offered them the services she had reserved for their annual charity event for people with disabilities. The Ball for All was a success. 😊
She called her wedding off. What she did next with the $15K nonrefundable deposit was 'unheard of'
After canceling her wedding, a San Jose bride donated her $15,000 in nonrefundable deposits to a place close to her heart.

Yup-that's the famous dachshund attitude on display. 😂
This is Goose. His stick didn't fit through the door at first. But Goose believed in himself, and more importantly, so did his doorman. 13/10 (TT: bigstickgoose)

Rocky here-
Dewey didn't cooperate with #wontlookwednesday cuz he was hoping he'd get EXTRA treats but I didn't care. I wasn't gonna look no matter what!

My plan worked! We both got the same number of treats. I may be younger but sometimes I'm right. 😁

Today's #goodnews is just fun. A 1,200 bear named Henry eating a 1,400 pumpkin that was donated to the habitat.

Our favorite thing from the story is that at first Henry wasn't sure about this thing that was bigger than him but after eating a big chunk of it, seemed to be in a food coma. 🤣

Photos released by the habitat show Henry in something of a food coma after smashing around a third of the pumpkin in one sitting.

Rocky here with our #tongueouttuesday photos.

Dewey is sticking his tongue out in protest of mom interrupting his nap while I show off my skills with a complex tongue wrap around my snout.

Giving myself a 10/10 for the degree of difficulty. 🤣

Today's #goodnews is about the many nonprofits who help veterans and their dogs.

Dogs on Deployment help find people to take care of their pets during deployment. Project Street Vet pays for vet visits, surgeries and food. Praline's Backyard offers free pet boarding. 😊

It's a Monday so thought another #goodnews story showing there's lots of good people out there might make you feel better.

This dad & his 2 sons spent $150 buying food & set up a food pantry on their lawn. It had a great response with lots of people donating money so they could keep it going. 😊
A Pittsburgh dad started his own food drive due to SNAP cuts. What happened next shocked him
As SNAP hangs in limbo, Pittsburgh dad AJ Owen’s small food drive went viral, inspiring nationwide donations and community acts of kindness.

This is one of the sweetest videos ever! ❤️
This is Oakley. He has an injury that requires physical therapy and at-home massages. Luckily, his cat sibling River has been training his whole life for this. 14/10 for both

Today's #goodnews comes from Baltimore where the Enoch Pratt Free Library partnered with the Maryland Food bank to open a grocery store right in the library.

Twice a week it opens & anyone can fill up 1 bag with fresh produce, baby essentials, dry goods & more. People helping people. 😊

Hey #dogsofbluesky-

We think there's some kind of conspiracy going on. Seems like a lot of us got baths yesterday. . . . 🤔

Bad enough that we had to deal with the horror of a bath but a surprise bath? On a weekend when we had a full day of relaxation planned?

Well, that's just rude! 😒

Today's #goodnews comes from Ohio. A nonprofit started a pilot program using smart technology to help disabled adults live on their own.

Smart appliances, medication dispensers & other remote tech provide support & kick in when needed. So far it's going great with plans to expand the program. ☺️

The sun came out & we finally were able to go on a walk yesterday. Rocky's leg is all healed. He's back to "walking like he's late for a meeting." 😁

Posting these for our pal @bobbyairedale.bsky.social who was asking about Rocky's leg. See? All better.

Have a wonderful weekend friends.🥰

Today's #nicenews comes from Yorkshire England where Jake the owner of an animal sanctuary married his sweetheart Rosie.
The two met & fell in love while working together with the animals so it only made sense for them to get married there. Bunny was picked as ringbearer cuz she's a daddy's girl.😊

Happy Friday to all the #dogsofbluesky

Finally stopped raining here & hearing rumors of walkies later. Been snoozing all day so have stored up plenty of energy for that!

Remembering our trip to Mt. St. Helens for #fallbackfriday & how much fun it was. 😊

Wishing all our pals a great weekend.

Today's #goodnews is about Rania Zuri who started the LiTEArary Society to get preschoolers excited about books.

After she learned many kids don't have books at home, she wanted to expose them to books at a young age so they learn to love reading. And it's working! 😊

Today's #nicenews just proves that it's not only humans who like to take selfies. 😁

Two divers off the coast of Canada were minding their own business when a giant octopus decided it wanted to use their camera to do it's own photo shoot and it got some great shots. 😆

Today's #goodnews is about 4 dogs in England being given a second chance after being rescued from horrible conditions.

Dozens were found & the RSPCA identified 4 that had 'the right stuff' to be trained. They're still undergoing specialist detective training & we wish them all the best . 😊

It's hard to get Rocky to participate in #tongueouttuesday but he's always willing to do #wontlookwednesday any day of the week. 🤣

Today's #goodnews comes from Canada where a photographer alerted Parks Canada staff when we saw an elk with netting entangled in its antlers.

They got it removed without harming the animal and said it happens quite often. Thank goodness there's good people at the park to help. 😊

Today's #goodnews comes from Kentucky. A teacher named Scott had a student who was born without a hand & wearing a rubber hand.

Scott wondered if he could design a functional hand. He got advice from others using 3-D printers to make prosthetics & finally surprised the boy with his new hand. 😊
Kentucky Teacher-of-the-Year Created a Prosthetic Hand for a Student Using School’s 3D Printing Lab
