I thought of it, but he was clearly OK and went to join the ducks and geese across the street. I didn't see him this morning, will check later.
In a village nearby, there used to be one that would hang out by the traffic lights and cross the street. He even had a portrait of himself.

I was worried that he was sick/hurt and would be run over. I feared he'd try to attack me, but he was just annoyed that I woke him up. He ate the lettuce and went somewhere safer.
I'd never seen swans in this area before. He looks small in the pic, but he was a big dude.

Weird thing that happened :
After posting this, I came home last night and there was a swan lying down in the middle of the street. I thought he was injured, but I fed him some lettuce and he actually got up and ate. He was a little leery at first, then seemed totally OK.
